The Easter bunny gave me something lovely to share on Childtastic – a book review by one of our super-readers from Year 5: Ava. She has written about The Girl Who Drank the Moon, by Kelly Barnhill.
What is the book about?
A young girl called Luna with an extraordinary magical abilities – Luna is raised by an old witch called Xan, a bog creature and a dragon who are very kind. Soon, though, Luna must understand who she is.
Who would like this book?
This book would be suitable for people who like fantasy and magic. If you prefer more realistic stories, this book is not for you.
Would you recommend this book?
I would definitely recommend this book because it’s very interesting and inspires me to write my own stories (my Beowulf innovation is based off this).
